THE FOUNDATION

this retreat is about
horsemanship.

At the heart of our retreats is the belief that true partnership with horses unlocks something profound in us. We draw on the principles underlying Natural Horsemanship — not as a rigid system, but as a living philosophy.

Understanding how horses think, communicate, and respond transforms not just how you ride, but how you listen.

Natural horsemanship isn’t just a method — it’s a mirror.

“This is about reciprocity, not domination. Presence, not performance. It’s better for the horse — and transformative for us.”

Three Pillars. one intention.
become a more present, connected rider.

MOVEMENT & BODY AWARENESS

Daily yoga and movement sessions are specifically designed for riders — spine mobility, hip openness, core stability without gripping. When your body moves well, your horse feels it. Better body awareness = better riding.

Nervous system regulation

Your nervous system is your horsemanship. Horses mirror your state — anxiety transfers, calm transfers. The retreat builds toward real co-regulation between you and your horse. When your nervous systems sync, you’re not just riding — you’re partnering. That’s where the real skill lives.

Natural Horsemanship

The core of your experience. You’ll learn the language horses already speak — presence, energy, intention — through structured groundwork and guided riding with a certified horsemanship professional. Every session builds toward real, felt connection.

The Horse
As Thy Teacher

Partnership & Communication

The foundation of everything we do. When you learn to listen before you lead, horses stop resisting and start choosing to be with you.

Movement & Connection

Horses don’t lie. They reflect exactly where you are — mentally, physically, emotionally. Learn more about yourself than ever before.

Nervous System Awareness

Your horse feels your heart rate before you do. When you learn to regulate yourself in real time, that’s when real partnership begins.

transformation in the saddle.

You won’t leave as a “completely new person”—because you were never broken to begin with. Instead of trying to ‘fix you’ we focus on delving into processes that allow you to remember parts of yourself that got buried, discover things you never knew about yourself and uncover your inner magic. You’ll discover…

01

Slow Down in Ways That Matter

In our always-on world, your nervous system is likely running on overdrive. Here, surrounded by mountains and working alongside horses who only respond to authentic presence, you’ll discover what it feels like to truly regulate. Not through force or willpower, but through genuine connection—with the land, the horses, and yourself..

02

Learn to Trust Again

Horses don’t lie. They can’t pretend. When you’re with them, you quickly discover what’s real and what’s performance. They’ll teach you to read energy, take action, set boundaries with kindness, and communicate from a place of truth rather than trying to control outcomes.

Everything — the movement sessions, groundwork, breathwork, the time in nature — exists to serve one purpose: deepening your horse connection and sharpening your skill in the saddle.

THE JOURNEY

The 3 day Arc

Each day builds deliberately on the last. By Day 3, you’re not following instructions — you’re riding from felt sense.

DAY 1 — Arrival & UNTANGLE
GROUNDING · FIRST CONNECTION

The day begins with a welcome circle and grounding practice — a chance to step away from the noise and into presence, to land, exhale, and begin co-regulating with horses and humans alike.
You’ll be introduced to the principles of Natural Horsemanship before meeting your horse and heading out on your first trail ride through river valleys and forests, stopping for a riverside meditation and picnic lunch along the way.

The evening is yours to restore — spa time flows into a gentle embodied movement session, and the day closes with a quiet wind-down and intention setting to anchor what’s ahead.

DAY 2 — presence & clarity
REGULATE · INTENTION · ACTION

The morning begins with yoga focused on spine mobility, hip openness, and breathwork — all specifically tailored to support your riding. This flows into a guided body awareness session to prepare you before working with the horses.

The centrepiece of the day is the 2.5-hour Natural Horsemanship Masterclass, where you’ll explore presence, touch, energy, groundwork, and riding patterns with a certified professional.

The afternoon brings an integration trail ride followed by a river swim, and the day closes with yin yoga and a quartz singing bowl sound bath to settle your nervous system into deep rest.

DAY 3 — TRUST & INTEGRATION
Ride Home with Confidence

The final day opens with an intuitive yoga session — moving from feel rather than rules. Then comes the centrepiece: the Long Ride, a journey through varied wilderness terrain that calls on everything you’ve built over the past two days.

A scenic picnic lunch breaks up the afternoon, which leads into the liberty session — working with horses completely free of halter and rope, a profound test of the presence and trust you’ve been cultivating.

The retreat closes with a circle of gratitude and reflection before departure at 5pm, a chance to honour what you’ve learned and carry it forward with renewed clarity, calm, and trust in your own rhythm.
